1. Quit my job in Australia and immigrated to the USA to marry a wonderful woman I met online whilst on assignment in the US.

2. Spent a week braving rush hour on the Tokyo train system with dislocated ribs. I was repeatedly crushed and sandwiched about a week after dislocating my ribs in my final rollerblading accident. The pain medication had run out far too soon....

3. Watched a spectacular hour-long Leonid meteor shower in the early hours of the morning while laying on the hood of my girlfriend's car.

4. Patted and fed a koala.

5. Wrote a .mod-player (a digitized music format common on the PC and Amiga in the 80s) and PC graphics demos entirely in 80386 assembly language.

6. Ate kangaroo twice in one week.

7. Stayed with my fiancée at an isolated house at the top of a hill in the Barossa Valley in South Australia, with nothing but rolling hills and farmland for miles around.

8. Sent an embarrassingly awful novelette to 3 science fiction pro-markets, back when I didn't know any better :)

9. Toured purported haunted locales in New Orleans, including cemeteries and plantation homes, and possibly saw a ghost (captured on film).

10. Drove from San Francisco to Yosemite National Park in a rented Camaro convertible.
