Daily Photo Shoot - Day 14

The subject for the Photo Shoot for Thursday, 14 February 2013 is:

What the World Needs Now, is Love, Sweet Love

14FEB20130046

And I could end this entry right there, I suppose. But here's one more for you, a photo of a little magnetized saying that we've had on our refrigerator door for as long as we have lived here at Crow Cottage:

Sorry about the glare. I don't know why a bumpy surface refrigerator would glare like that with the flash, but it does.

If You Are Very Lucky,
Once in Your Life You Find
The Perfect Partner

When I saw this saying almost 27 years ago, I knew it applied to Paul and me. Even though we hadn't gone through all these years of marriage yet, I just knew when I married him, and he married me, that he was perfect for me. I can't speak for him as to whether or not I was perfect for him.

I am the luckiest woman in the world to have found and then married my sweetheart from my early teen years. The guy I used to swoon over when I was 14 years old.

Paul

The guy who wouldn't give me the time of day back then, who turned around and walked the other way when he saw me coming. He was, after all, 17 years old, and a 17 year-old guy couldn't be caught dead with an insignificant freshman girl.

But I carried a flame for him in all the ensuing years, through other boyfriends and even through another husband. In the end, it was purely by accident (or was it providence?) that I ran into Paul at The Fort in Marblehead, we went out together on his lobster boat, and we were never apart after that day.

The Crowells & the Barrys

So this entry is to say to my Perfect Partner, Paul, that I love you honey, with all my heart and always will.

Didn't mean to get so mushy here. But hey, it IS Valentine's Day!

I wish you all a very satisfying Valentine's Day, as well. For a treat to myself, I have ordered pizza to be delivered at 5 o'clock this afternoon. I made that cake yesterday and I am not cooking supper tonight!

Cheers and Love,

Bex & Co.

Some of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard are:

Kasey Chambers & Shane Nicholson singing "One More Year"

and "The Quiet Life":

and also "The Making of "Wreck & Ruin" (this is a very good informative video of this couple:)
