All Things Bright & Beautiful...

This is for Topsy Turvy - my hydrangea bush above. As you can see, TT, it's leafing out nicely now. I got outside this morning and took as many photos around the gardens as my camera would allow. It always loses its battery power after I've taken a lot of photos. Today I took over 120 of them and at the end, it had stopped. I know I need a new camera but for various reasons, that's not going to happen anytime soon.

If you have a few minutes, here's a slideshow of this morning's shots of various growing things around Crow Cottage. The more trees, shrubs, flowers, bushes, and yes, even weeds we have here on our little plot of land, the happier I am.

You can click the big arrow and see the slideshow or click the name of the set above that and go to stills.

I know a lot of them are repetitive. I have a hard time culling out the less-than-ideal photos so I just leave most of them in. Sorry about that.

Now TT, I have given you two photos so far of my hydrangea, so I'm waiting for one or more of yours soon... so we can compare the different types. Like I said before, mine was a tiny plant, blue flowers on it, that I got at the food store the very first year we lived here, back in 1987. I didn't know that I wasn't supposed to cut it back so that's what I did each year, and lo and behold it went many years as a small tiny plant before I learned not to cut the stems off each year, and it's finally started getting bigger. It was only about 8 inches high in a small pot when I bought it.

I just put these photos up at Flickr, and I am going to go in and put captions on them now. That may take a while.

Ta ra, keep gardening if you can, and stop and smell the lilacs!
