Grandma's Journal
My Journal

I became a Grandma at the age of 49 years old. Well I was actually only 17 days from being 50. My baby girl gave me gave me my first grandchild. He was a beautiful bouncy boy. Then 2 years later she surprised me on my birthday at 5am by waking me up and telling me "Happy Birthday Mom!" Time to get up we are going to the hospital and having a baby today! I told her NO that's tomorrow. It took a little bit for her to get it through my groggy head that she was going to be giving me a birthday present! and she totally did. She gave me a dark hair beautiful little grand daughter. Now I can enjoy spoiling 2. I have decided that the best thing in the world is being a Grandma! There is nothing that come close to that! I have been married for 30 years to a man that lives for his family. He only wants the best for all of us and spoils us all! He is a good man that works hard for his dollar. We have a pretty good marriage to say the least. Well it must be if we can put up with each others faults this long! My mom who has Alzehimers lives with us and has been for almost 3 years now. She is in the finally stages of the disease and still hangs in there. She loves to grab the broom and sweep. She does this everyday, and several times a day. I keeps her busy. She will even sweep the counch or the kitchen table if you let her. My oldest daughter is going to be 34 years old this year and hasn't lived at home in 16 years. I spend as must time as I can with her. But it is never enough. She plans on coming home to live and take care of us in 7 years. I cant wait! It's my dream to have her home. She is a dear friend to me and we have a great relationship. she always tells me that I am her best friend.

I love Lighthouses, and I collect them. I added a beautiful homemade lighthouse quilt to my collection in November 2008. A friend of my oldest daughter made it for me, and she did a beautiful job. I will treasure it always.

Happy 4th of July everyone

well everyone is gone from visiting and now it has been time trying to catch up with sleep...seems like I have been doing a lot of that the past few days.

Thursday night brought me the oppertunity to take DesiRay to the mushroom pool and play with her. I jumped at the chance. I sat on the side of the pool and held her while she played in the water. She liked sitting on the steps and kicking her feet. Then she relized that if I held her by her hands she could curl her legs up and float. We both had a lot of fun. We played for 20 minutes and then I decided that was proable long enough, as I didn't want her to become a prune...I sat her on my leg, and let her watch the other kids for awhile and then we got out and dried off, changed her diaper, and gave her a bottle. It was then that I saw that I was all wet myself. from my waist to the bottom of my shorts....my cell phone was in my pocket and it got pretty wet. I dried it off, and put it in my bra and away we went. When I looked at my cell phone again several hours later, it wouldn't work. I charged it all night, and still not working. Dried it with a blow dryer, still no luck....so I guess now I need to go buy a new phone...for now I borrowed my hubby's cell phone and changed out the sim cards...more important that I have a phone then him.

Today (2:24am) brings us the 4th of July "Freedom". Our nations birthday. We we going to go to the Levi Park, and BQ, but Bryan doesn't want to go, so I guess we are just going to stay home...I think I will go food shopping in the morning, and make a nice dinner....

Mom is doing ok. She goes down hill more and more everyday. some days are good some days are bad...she was up late 2 nights ago. she has learned to play possium and make me think that she is sleeping, and when I go downstairs to head to bed, she gets up...and then she cleans...she cleaned out her dresser drawers, and threw away her bra's again! Neil found them in the garbage and dug them out for me to wash again.

My brother got moved into his new town house...he has gone down hill with his dementia and is confussed. He doesn't seem to remember how to hang things on the walls...this frustrates my sister in law to no end....she says she did most of the moving and setting up....we heled them move on tuesday evening...and by Friday every box had been emptied and everything had it's place....looks like they have been there for a month not 3 days....my sister in law must of never went to sleep....it's really nice...I sure like where they live now...they live 2 blocks from my sister...so now I will get to see them more often...I will have to divide my time up between the two of them...I love it!!!!!

well it is time for me to head to bed....its very late...love you all.
