Branson Day Two: Perfect Weather Continues
Morning: Platters concert. Great music and talent. Our seats were on the first row and things happen to people on the front row. Enough said. Noon: Branson Belle Showboat Tour of Table Lake. Two hours of good food, fabulous talent and entertainment, fun paddleboat on beautiful blue mountain lake. Evening: Paul Revere and the Raiders Concert. This time we are center on the second row. Paul might be the funniest guy ever. He is hysterical! The Raiders are still a great band; they also served, after a costume change, as band for Bill Medley, the surviving Righteous Brother, whose show followed Paul Revere. Medley, recently inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame sang so many of their best songs including You've Lost That Lovin' Feeling, Soul and Inspiration, Rock and Roll Heaven, and included the song he and his daughter wrote for the movie, Ghost, titled I've Had the Time of My Life which she (McKenna) came on stage to perform with her Dad. We were exiting as Bill Medley came out the stage door and he, being a genuinely nice guy, reached over and gave me a hug. Yes! Note: When I came here 15 years ago, it was really a place populated mostly by seniors. On this trip, I am seeing kids and young people (25 and under) everywhere! Miniature golf courses, splash water parks, go-carts, fishing and boating on the lake, Ducky boat tours, are filled with kids and their 30-40ish parents. The Payne Stewart Golf Course is one of the courses that attracts the dads for sure! Just being in the beautiful Ozarks with cool weather and blue skies is enough.
