sea shells at the sea shore

yep, i had to change it again.

like i said, south ponte verda and vilano beaches are the best places to find lovely sea shells.

when we went to sarasota, their beaches had a lot of nice shells too, and a lot of them were still inhabited.

this little group (in the pic) was pretty far up the beach towards the dunes...as we walked up the beach, there were two young women (late teens, early twenties, more than likely college age) snapping self portraits and gathering shells to spell out something in the sand.

man, today has been warm...in the mid 80's. i have to tell you, i'm not liking it at all. i guess that's going to be my biggest struggle. i hate heat, but if i move closer to the ocean, then maybe it won't seem so hot. dunno. i'm sure that if i were to go to one of the piers, i would feel a nice breeze off the river and not be so damn hot (florida may not be the best place for a woman who is at the beginning of her hot flashes phase)

well, i've got all my pictures for entry in the county fair...framed, but just not labeled yet. i picked the beach pic i had posted yesterday, a pier pic, black and white sailboats pic and then the black and white reservoir z-dog. man, that pic of z looks so good in black and white.

so early in the morning, framed entries in hand, as well as my camera, i will be heading to the county fair (z refuses to go with me)...ya'll wish me luck. the prizes are small and will barely cover what i spent, but a pretty blue ribbon (or two) would be nice.

plus now i have four framed "products" for my st. augustine arts and crafts show in june (i mailed off the registration form and fee this morning)

but at the fair, i think i might even ride a ride or two. i love the tilt-a-whirl. i don't like ferris wheels or "fair" roller coasters, but maybe if they have that himmalaya ride, i might give that a go.

i don't mind riding rides by myself. when i took the kids to carowinds, i had to ride all the coasters by myself...wussies...

it should all be fun and i'm looking forward to it!

;-)
