I'm a web developer for NOVICA. I'm fascinated by languages, even though I only speak English and a little Spanish. I can count in Korean and have numerous language and linguistics books. I'm living within walking distance of CSUN where I share an apartment with my girlfriend and 2 cats. I'm happy. I write sporadically (I really need to finish that short story), with every intention of making a living at it at an undisclosed point in the future. I taught physics at Emperor's College Winter Term 2008. I love games and stories and music and computers and science and "and." I drink my coffee 100% black 80% of the time and 80% black 20% of the time. Also, there are other things. 7332 42

Closure

Chapter Three of Scott McCloud's wonderful book Understanding Comics is titled Blood in the Gutter. It deals with Closure, which he defines as the "...phenomenon of observing the parts but percieving the whole..." Anyway I've been thinking about closure for the last 4 or 5 hours. At some point I got hungry. Trying to find my car in the parking lot, I saw all the empty spaces, and mentally filled in some of the more interesting cars that occupy the spaces during the day. The first one that comes to mind is the Morg. I'm not 100% certain that this exercise has anything to do with closure...

I found my car, used it to find a burrito, and then I was in my room writing this journal entry. If you were to fill in the details, like where I found the burrito, the color of my car, or what route I took to get home, that would definately be this closure thing.

That's it. Feel free to fill in all of the insightful thoughts that I had about closure.

I'm so close to witty, I can almost feel it...
