I'm a web developer for NOVICA. I'm fascinated by languages, even though I only speak English and a little Spanish. I can count in Korean and have numerous language and linguistics books. I'm living within walking distance of CSUN where I share an apartment with my girlfriend and 2 cats. I'm happy. I write sporadically (I really need to finish that short story), with every intention of making a living at it at an undisclosed point in the future. I taught physics at Emperor's College Winter Term 2008. I love games and stories and music and computers and science and "and." I drink my coffee 100% black 80% of the time and 80% black 20% of the time. Also, there are other things. 7332 42

Bike

I've been looking at a bike for the last month. I was waiting for the right time to buy it, and then a NOVICA server went down, and I had to leave work early to reset it. I had just enough time after leaving the data center where our servers are to stop by the bike shop, which happens to be on the way home from the data center.

I got the bike, a helmet, a set of lights, and sundry other accessories. I took it home and rode it around the block a few times. I was tempted to ride until it got dark, but I decided to read a little and then turn in early.

I woke up at 7:30 and was on my bike by 8:00. I picked up the beach bike path at the end of Washington, and rode it all the way up to the Santa Monica pier. I then turned arround and rode back to what looked like the best way to get up to Ocean. I rode back and forth until I realized that Pico was the best way up. I took Ocean to Broadway, and the Broadway all the way to Bundy. Crossing Bundy, I took small residential streets straight to the office. Ocean and Bundy both have bike lanes, so the ride is quite unstressful.

I got into the office at 9:00. I'm pretty sure I can chop that in half now that I know the route, and since I can rarely drive to work in less than 25 min, I'm quite happy on all fronts.
