I'm a web developer for NOVICA. I'm fascinated by languages, even though I only speak English and a little Spanish. I can count in Korean and have numerous language and linguistics books. I'm living within walking distance of CSUN where I share an apartment with my girlfriend and 2 cats. I'm happy. I write sporadically (I really need to finish that short story), with every intention of making a living at it at an undisclosed point in the future. I taught physics at Emperor's College Winter Term 2008. I love games and stories and music and computers and science and "and." I drink my coffee 100% black 80% of the time and 80% black 20% of the time. Also, there are other things. 7332 42

Go

I haven't written in a while, but since I've got a new hobby, I thought I'd share. I've started playing the game go. I'd heard mention of the game in Derek James' journal, but it wasn't until some time in May that I first saw a game. Sometime in the summer, I learned the rules, and started reading about the game, and then I started playing with Kenny.

While listening to a friend sing, I learned of the Santa Monic Go Club. Last tuesday and Wedensday I played go with the Santa Monica Go Club, and found out about KGS. I played on KGS many times over the weekend, and won my first game Sunday evening. Also on Saturday I had a discusion about the philosophy of go over burritos with a random person I met at Viva Fresh.

This Tuesday, Kenny joined me at the Unurban, for the Santa Monica Go Club, and much fun and learning was had. I met Chris, who had commented on my first KGS win. Chris played a teaching game with me and I played a played a few games, and learned quite a bit.

On the drive home a man spoke to me out of my radio. In no uncertain terms he told me I would be a better go player if I exercised more. I'm going to walk to the beach in the morning. Good night.
