Democrats use the government to get rich; republicans use the free market.

Democrats want to continue to use the government to meet social needs and provide for their own personal wealth. Republicans want to shift nearly all social programs to the private sector and maintain wealth through a series of large corporations.

Government health care, public education, and social programs are often flawed. Private health care and education are often expensive and exclusionary.

People vote to determine the actions of the government, and often what happens is lost in a sea of rhetoric and legislation. An unregulated private sector is held accountable to no one, and profit, not the well-being of the people, becomes the ultimate goal.

Socialism in its extreme form leads to a powerful, wealthy government that controls its people through tight financial distribution and manipulation.

Capitalism in its extreme form leads to a powerful, wealthy group of business men who control the people through tight financial distribution and manipulation.

In the end, the goal isn't to find which ideology best represents the American people. Ideologies are born out of extremes, and extremes only lead us into the ground. The goal is to choose a candidate who can bring us closer to the midpoint between capitalism and socialism, government programs and private interests, the people and the power structure. We need to filter out the best of both sides and leave the worst behind. The goal is balance.
