You should never make projections months ahead based on the trajectory at that moment. I thought it was a foregone conclusion that Guiliani and Clinton would be the nominees, but obviously that fell in the crapper. Guiliani is now out. And so is Edwards (which is good), leaving a 2x2 race, either Clinton or Obama vs. McCain or Romney.

Here's how I would probably vote (based on what I know right now) given these matchups:

Clinton vs. McCain: McCain
Clinton vs. Romney: Yuck...Clinton
Obama vs. Romney: Obama
Obama vs. McCain: This would give me the most problems. I just really don't like Clinton and Romney, so voting against them would be relatively easy. But I do like both of these guys reasonably well. If this match-up really occurred, I'd like to see how they handle head-to-head debates, but right now I'd probably lean toward McCain.

I'm not even going to try to predict what the match-up will actually be. My track record sucks.
