There is no pleasure to me without communication: there is not so much as a sprightly thought comes into my mind that it does not grieve me to have produced alone, and that I have no one to tell it to.

Presenting the Authors

So what do you think? Will that work for the author photo on our book jacket?

With Seven For a Secret nearly revised (yeah, we're doing more rewriting) and ready to be scheduled and noted in the catalog, we've had the usual inquiries about author bios and whether we might like provide new author photos. Something other than the mug shots we reluctantly handed over about ten years ago and which were dated even then.

Yeah right. Readers really need to see clear, color pictures of a couple of old people. We'll stick with the blurry black and whites of our middle-aged selves.

Actually these cartoons generated by the nifty make your own Simpsons character on the Simpsons Movie site are pretty accurate. Kind of depressing to think I can make a recognizable portrait of myself from a short menu of facial features. I guess I'm just a caricature to begin with. D'oh.
