Today in my class we watched the 3rd quarter of "Dead Poets Society." I think my students like it. I feel kind of odd showing a movie about individuality vs conformity in a class that has a rigid curriculum (First Year Composition). Also, I am very strict when it comes to attendance, but this is a class that they only have to take once if they do the work. Now, I am getting ready for my poetry class tonight and that should be a blast. I have Professor Barbara Anderson, She is fun. It is a free forms of poetry type class. I feel like I can say anything and it will be cool, in fact the more outrageous, the better. She likes tha fact that I do Slam Poetry, although she hasn't seen me do a slam yet, she is supportive of my endeavors, which seems to be quite rare among academic poets. I think I better logout before I repeat myself |
