Mood:
a nervous breakdown after a long day of trading

Well. Tonight was packed. I woke up at 7 from my evening nap and hurried over to Jitters. Karen, Rob and a few others were there in a small round table format.
It is nice because it can alternate between showbiz like event, to academic reading to informal roundrobins. A versitile reading. Then I hurried over to the Double Down to catch the Strombolis and something tour. I don't remember the name of the tour but the poets were primo. Tara Hardy from Seattle opened followed by Ricky Lee, followed by Michelle Tea followed by Bucky Sinister, and closed out by local phenom, and NPR columnist, Dayvid Figler. I thought all of them had their moments but Michelle and Bucky stole the show in my mind, although the crowd really loved Ricky Lee. Tara was on Seattle's Slam Team which was a finalist this year at Nationals. Double Down is a bit smokey, but is supposed to be. It is a real punk rock bar. There were some bikers outside blocking my car, but they moved without a problem. Still, the Double Down has been the underworld center in my mind. Maybe not as underworldy as the naked city area... but more of a edgy place to go than Crown and Anchor(British Pub).

Tomorrow is Taylor Mali and Dawn Saylor and they are due in, tomorrow afternoon. The reading is at night and I am hoping for a decent turnout.

Monday is Gary Glazner and that should be a blast.

Well... I must head to the sack soon.

Today I was in a bad mood because I got rejected by another MFA program. I read Rick Polney's "Sacrafice" at the Jitters RdRobin.

On top of that... I have about 83 papers to grade by Wednesday... so you can see, I am having fun but wish I had more time.
