Paper 1----10% Paper 2----20% Paper 3----20% Paper 4----30% MidTerm----10% Final------10% Final is a take home final Portfolio due May 1st 1.Song Lyrics 2.Films 3 and 4. Issue of significance in each paper you will: Summarize, analyze, compare and contrast, opine, support, persuade, argue, dialogue, debate, deliberate, claim, reason, rebute, synthesize. Attendance- 6 classes maximum can be missed. I make no distinction between lateness, leaving early, sleeping, distracting behavior and absenteeism. If you are late, you will be marked absent. Bottom Line! On the other hand, you have no required homework. Readings are for your own good, and you will be tested on for the final exam. I may give pop quizzes, and require you to take them, but they will not be graded. They will give you a good idea of what is going to be on the final. The textbook, the handbook of grammar and usage are our required texts. You will have assignments out of each. But our course is centered around Argument, and Art will be our focus. Is there a message in art, or is it just art for art's sake. |
