Directions
4A- write a 1 page proposal dealing with a problem such as political division, or the idea of reparations as presented by Na-Tehesi Coates. One can also look at articles: "What is a Conservative", by Rob Dreher; Liberalism as presented in the Oxford 1947 Manifesto, and Libertarianism as represented in an excerpt from Ayn Rand's "Atlas Shrugged."

You should look at a particular issue that you will focus on. You must incorporate either the Gettysburg Address, and or Faulkner's Nobel Acceptance Speech into the essay. You may also use any other course material that I have posted on Webcampus. Any other materials that you wish to use, you must cite in your paper.

4B- Will be the actual full paper. You will present the problem in the first half, and propose the solution in the second half. The paper will be 5 pages minimum or at least 1,500 words.

4C- Each student will give a 5-10 minute presentation of their paper either 11/10, 11/12, 11/17, 11/19, or 11/24
You should summarize the main points of the paper. Each student will respond to presentations on web campus for their weekly journal entries. Students may use AV, computer, etc. No outline required for final presentation. Depending on sign ups, we will also have time for portfolio revision workshop. Such dates will be announced after sign ups on 11/5.
