The idea from the latest Consumer Reports that many items that are recalled for safety violation in the US are just shipped overseas and sold to other countries, especially children's products, is astouding and and infuriating all at the same time.

In the 1980s during the Regan administration, the Consumer Product Safety Commission reinterperted rules and policies that previously kept recalled items from being shipped overseas, issuing numerous "exceptions" to shipments.

It's sad to think that items that are dangerous for children could be so callously just be sent elsewhere.

And though the Regan administration started the trend, there's certainly been plenty of time for other Presidents to have put a stop to it.

There are better ways to make money in this world, and if that's what you've come up with, it's better that you go out of business.
