I spend a great deal of my life dodging being in positions of responsibility.

Not that I couldn't do most of them, just that my whole life seems to become narrowed down to taking care of that responsibility, at the expense of free time and sanity.

And rarely have I ever been actually offered those positions as much as a vacuum of competence has forced me to pick something up and fix it, or the wants of others have forced me to take control of things to get those others what they want. Never considering if I really wanted that.

So for work I try just to get my work done and concentrate on staying away from management and politics.

And for home I just hide out at work. Or not.
