For all my whining about not meeting people at work, I skipped out on the Christmas party and went home and to bed instead.

Well, acutally, I worked through the first hour of it, since I had to get some stuff out by a night deadline. Then I went and grabbed some of the food that was out for dinner, stood around like a big idiot, looking for anyone I knew, then took off.

There were just too many people at the party and I felt out of place in the crowd, so I ate at my desk, then shuffled off. Maybe if it was a smaller departmental thing it would have been easier, but it was the entire company and families, so there were probaby 800 people there.

And I was tired and wouldn't be my normally sparkling self anyway.

I guess if I'm going to do something like that, I really shouldn't complain anymore about not meeting people.
