"Thanks for being sturdy."

Hmm.

I shouldn't be ungratful for any compliment, as they don't come that often.

But "sturdy"? Things you climb on are sturdy.

Ladders are sturdy. Sailing ships. Well-built houses.

I know what they meant. You're dependable and constant. Yeah, like a rock. You're like a favorate shoe that hasn't worn out after years. Like that old car that hasn't blown a headgasket yet, and keeps chugging along.

I'm not sure I want to be "sturdy".

Still, better than no compliment, I suppose.
