It's weird, but maybe not uncommon:

When I'm really relaxed, I don't usually remember my dreams.

Then I start to get wound up over things, and I start dreaming, not usually related to whatever's got me going, but occasionally.

Finally, I get really immersed in a thing, so busy that I rarely can concentrate anything outside that activity, and then I stop remembering my dreams again.

I also have the reoccuring theme of elevators in my dreams, usually out of control elevators crashing to the ground, or flying up out of the top of a structure like a cannon shell. If you believe in these things, the elevator represents control of my life

But lately, I've been in total control of all my elevator dreams.

Which is ironic, because I feel the least in control of my life in ages.
