leftover halloween candy

In my constant quest not to eat ten pieces of chocolate a day, I was browsing websites with well-meaning, but pain in the but advice for how to deal with leftover halloween candy:

make a gift bag for nursing homes
make an advent calendar out of a shoebox, etc.
freeze the chocolate
save it for a pinata
chop it up for ice cream toppings

Which is all great, but seems to me a lot of work. On the other hand, going to the grocery store and picking up a couple of bottles of wine as this person says doesn't sound like work at all...

Halloween candy and wine tastings. Do YOU know which wine goes with candy corn?

(And one health website even said that Halloween candy was better than regular candy to give your children all through the year because they are packaged as smaller portions.)
