genderized breathing

My part time job puts me in the unique position of hearing people's upset and nervous breathing frequently.

And do you know what? I can always tell whether its a female or male doing the breathing before they start talking.

Weird, huh? Why is that? Could it be that nervous breathing is a societally-learned trait divided by gender?

It couldn't be, right?
