2008 Books #19 and 20 City of Bones and Vampire Academy

So we're back in my favorite territory : urban paranormals.

Cassandra Clare's City of Bones is a new twist on demon hunters and all that. I like that she also has a different love triangle than the usual two alpha male one.

It did start off a little slow for me, and it wasn't until the main problem emerged that I really got into it.

Richelle Mead's Vampire Academy, too, isn't your normal blood sucker book. The main relationship is between two friends, one of whom is a "good" vampire and the other is the female guardian who is charged with protecting her from "bad" vampires.

There's love in this one, too, which is forbidden because of that whole "I can't guard the target and work with my love at the same time" problem.
