Ilona Andrews' Kate Daniels series is still good in book number two: Magic Burns.

This time she's up agaisnt Fomorians and Morrigan's Hound, and her contentious relationship with the Beast Lord, Curran, gets even more physical (but not in the way I'd like, they just beat eachother up a few times in dominance contests.)

I like this series, despite it lacking as much romance as I'd like. But as there are many unanswered questions still about Kate's parentage, and her relationship with Curran, etc etc, I think there will be more good stuff for Ilona Andrews to show us in the books to come.

Recommended, but only if you've read the first.
