feast or famine

The thing about my part-time job is that while it's extremely convenient to work from home online in your pajamas, it is slightly isolating. The people I interact with are all recorded :)

However, recently I started a job as a substitute for instructional assistants in my local school district.

And oh my gosh. Talk about the opposite of isolation. Kids are little attention black holes, they'll soak up every ounce of energy you can afford (and sometimes can't afford) to give them.

Sigh. Time to find a new balance between days I work for the online job and days I work as a substitute.

It's nice to have the variety, but I'm not used to being around live, unrecorded humans all day and then coming home to my own little black holes in the evening :)
