2005-04-19 4:47 PM Antici-- As of last night, we're reversing our baby care shifts. I'm now taking the 8PM-4AM shift instead of the 4AM-10AM shift. The babies are now sleeping regularly from about 8PM until around midnight. Which means--
Writing time! I'm trying not to get too excited. Since my sweethearts were born, the only writing I've done is 700 words of a vague book idea and a lot of short, very cranky posts on various boards and blogs (many of which I'd prefer to see stricken from history, now that I'm sleeping 5 hours a night and slowly regaining my sense of balance, but oh well). A book. I could write a book. I could write six books. I could read a book! I'll have to find a way to work comfortably in our narrow New York kitchen--I'm thinking Kathleen's desk chair and a TV tray might fit between the sink and the Ikea wooden counter--but could it be? Could I actually become a writer again? There's probably a catch. And I'll have to curb my rampant Internet habits, since boards and blogs use the same energy (and same time) that go into books. They're distractions, and if I've got writing time again, I don't need distractions. So no more boards, no more blogs. Get to work. Hey, maybe I could take up Tetris again!
