People complain about musicals.
They say:

Nobody just stops in the street
and breaks into song.

I say you know the wrong people.

Breaking radio silence

Much better. Thanks for the goodwill in the comments of my last post. I'm still short on sleep, but that's about all I can complain about.

First, two baby pictures:

The second shot is of the rest of my Father's Day present. (That's my Dad holding Mac and Butch.)

So I was thinking that as an experiment, I might blog about everything that happens with development and pre-production of I LOVE YOU, I'M SORRY, AND I'LL NEVER DO IT AGAIN. Share the script, share MP3s of various versions of the music as it progresses, talk about meetings and auditions, maybe scan and display storyboards. I have the blessing of the executive producer, who believes (as I do) that sharing the knowledge and demystifying things is better than keeping them secret for vague, politically paranoid reasons.

Before I begin, though, two questions:

  1. Is there any real interest in the behind-the-scenes of a low-budget short musical, or are conventional industry productions more interesting?

  2. Anything in particular anybody's interested in hearing about?
