People complain about musicals.
They say:

Nobody just stops in the street
and breaks into song.

I say you know the wrong people.

ILY plus 2 days and counting

First shot of the movie. Gorgeous wide noir shot, long shadows, streetlight coming in through the open factory bay door.

Eddie, you'll enter camera left, walk into the factory this way, exit camera right.

Thugs, you'll wait a beat, amble in behind him, stop just inside the bay doors, case the joint.

Gorgeous. Amazing. Did you see those cigarette glows? Fantast--

What's that?

Is that a car?

Did somebody park...

There's the butt end of a car in our shot.

Whose car is that? We're running behind. Can we move that car? HEY! FIND OUT WHOSE--

Hold on--

Eddie, there's a car in the shot and we can't move it. It's your car, you're entering camera right.

WE'RE GOOD! DON'T MOVE THE CAR!

Roll camera.

Action.
