Burden of Dreams

About a week ago I watched Fitzcarraldo.
I loved it.

Well, last night I watched a film called "Burden Of Dreams", which was a documentary made during the 3 year filming of Fitzcarraldo. It chronicles the madness of director Werner Herzog, and the sheer genius of what he was doing.

Fitzcarraldo was about a man following an insane dream against terrible odds, driven by a desire that is distinctly human.

Burden of Dreams is about the making of that film, and so is in essence the same story.

Watching it gives the viewer not only an insight into film making, but also into the insane world of the process of making art. It made Fitzcarraldo all the better of a movie, and a fan of one would be remiss not to watch the other.

My only complaint is there wasn't near enough of this woman in it.
