I'm taking Callie to the vet today. She's 18 (hard to believe!) and she's started having urinary problems.

I'm not very hopeful. More later.

Kidney failure. RIP, Calliope. For the first time in several decades, I am at home without a friend-in-fur by my side. :-(

Also, a good friend of mine has just checked himself into a "clinic". He won't admit he's an alcoholic, but he has at long last admitted he has a problem and needs help. He was raised Christian Scientist and so is averse to seeking any kind of medical intervention and has the alcoholic's need to be secretive. But props to him for taking the first step.
