me in the piazza

I'm a writer, publishing both as SJ Rozan and, with Carlos Dews, as Sam Cabot. (I'm Sam, he's Cabot.) Here you can find links to my almost-daily blog posts, including the Saturday haiku I've been doing for years. BUT the blog itself has moved to my website. If you go on over there you can subscribe and you'll never miss a post. (Miss a post! A scary thought!) Also, I'll be teaching a writing workshop in Italy this summer -- come join us!

The Kid was great

Got back from Charlottesville Sunday, dashed off to Philadelphia early this morning for the day to see The Kid (the second-youngest of the Four Fabulous Nephews, 12 years old) play Bottom in the 6th grade production of Midsummer Night's Dream. It was worth the crazed roundtrip and the missed day of writing -- he was great! He's a natural actor. It was a terrific production, too, very ambitious, and well cast, and all the kids rose to their roles. But The Kid -- who's been acting for awhile now -- was spectacular. Next year he's off to middle school, and I'm seeing drama club, artsy crowd, black t-shirts, late night political talk, pizza and angst.
