me in the piazza

I'm a writer, publishing both as SJ Rozan and, with Carlos Dews, as Sam Cabot. (I'm Sam, he's Cabot.) Here you can find links to my almost-daily blog posts, including the Saturday haiku I've been doing for years. BUT the blog itself has moved to my website. If you go on over there you can subscribe and you'll never miss a post. (Miss a post! A scary thought!) Also, I'll be teaching a writing workshop in Italy this summer -- come join us!

Just back

Sleeping, unpacking, sleeping, catching up on the email and the TONS of real mail. It's Xmas catalog-and-donation-request season already, have you noticed? River's still where I left it, running south this morning -- the Hudson's tidal, so it reverses it flow twice a day, almost as far north as Albany -- though the wind's a little colder than when I left. The flowers on the abelia in the park down there are still holding on, surprising me. I sat drinking my tea this morning -- Lipton's, from the deli, didn't have it in me to make it myself (got in last night) -- and thought about how weird it was to be sitting in the chilly wind by the Hudson scratching a mosquito bite I got yesterday walking by a swamp in Houston.
