sjrozan I'm a writer, at work on my 11th book. This blog is a record of random and less-random thoughts. If you want to know more about me, check my website, linked here. I also had a blog going from spring through late fall 2004 about the publishing process for my 9th book, ABSENT FRIENDS. That blog's called "Progress" and you can find the link here. I won't make any more entries but I'm leaving it up in case anyone's interested; the process is more or less the same from book to book. |

2007-03-02 11:51 AM That Weehawken gig It was great. The Weehawken Library is that Romanesque rockpile looming over the entrance to the Lincoln Tunnel. If you've ever driven into or out of NYC through there you've probably seen it and wondered what it was. It has very attractive reading rooms and great views, and it's ten minutes from the Port Authority by bus. The notorious JL and I went out there, arriving early enough for a stroll through Weehawken, which we both found very appealing. Then I did the library gig, which involved an attentive audience, lively political conversation, and red velvet cupcakes baked by the librarian. And speaking of the Port Authority, on the way back through we discovered there's a bowling alley complete with a bar, restaurant, and video game room -- and private lanes for "intimate parties" -- in the bus terminal. Who knew?
