me in the piazza

I'm a writer, publishing both as SJ Rozan and, with Carlos Dews, as Sam Cabot. (I'm Sam, he's Cabot.) Here you can find links to my almost-daily blog posts, including the Saturday haiku I've been doing for years. BUT the blog itself has moved to my website. If you go on over there you can subscribe and you'll never miss a post. (Miss a post! A scary thought!) Also, I'll be teaching a writing workshop in Italy this summer -- come join us!

Thirty-ninth Saturday, six days late*, from Anchorage

*for which I apologize. Getting online was hard in Anchorage, mostly a question of finding time to hit the internet cafe; on the Aleutian Islands it was close to impossible. Only in the libraries, very slow connection, constant crashes. More on the trip on later blogs -- I'm just back. But meanwhile, before it gets to be Saturday again, here's this:

Empty avenue.
Van edges around corner,
Hesitates in fog.

Tanker on vast bay
Waits patiently to unload
Onto endless train.

First snow of winter
Drapes mountain peaks in pearl white
Termination dust.
