2008-07-10 8:42 PM I love New York A panhandler's been working my subway entrance for fifteen years now. He's clearly strung out, and a little slow anyhow; but clean, a nice smile, always pleasant. He calls me "Sugar." I give him a buck every time I go by. If I need to hit the ATM I tell him I'll get him on the way back and he says, "I'll be here, Sugar." Yesterday that happened, but when I got back he was gone. This morning I saw him, gave him a buck, and he said, "Thanks, but don't I get two? You still owe me from yesterday, Sugar."
I love this town. Read/Post Comments (4) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
