me in the piazza

I'm a writer, publishing both as SJ Rozan and, with Carlos Dews, as Sam Cabot. (I'm Sam, he's Cabot.) Here you can find links to my almost-daily blog posts, including the Saturday haiku I've been doing for years. BUT the blog itself has moved to my website. If you go on over there you can subscribe and you'll never miss a post. (Miss a post! A scary thought!) Also, I'll be teaching a writing workshop in Italy this summer -- come join us!

More winners! And another contest

Okay, you funny people. And you are very funny people. Here are the winners of Contest #2, the Bill-and-Lydia-Ringtone question.

Lydia's choice for Bill: all the entries were terrific, but I have to go with Sally, "My Heroes Have Always Been Cowboys." This was one I hadn't thought of, but I was working along the same lines. You'll see that when you read THE SHANGHAI MOON, where Lydia has, in fact, chosen a ring tone for Bill.

Bill's choice for Lydia: I agree with the idea that Bill doesn't know how to set the ringtones on his phone. That means that for her to have one, she'd probably have to set it herself. In which case, though she might be tempted by "That's What You Get For Loving Me," she's likely to have chosen "Ride of the Valkyries." (She doesn't know much about classical music; I can see her asking, "What's that thing, it goes da-da-da-DA-da...?") Since B.G. has an ARC and isn't eligible (although, B.G., please keep entering, because you're such a pistol!), this one goes to Rachel, who probably either came up with it independently anyway, or was about to. (See, here at SJRozan.com, we reward future accomplishments as much as present ones.)

So, Sally and Rachel, send your mailing addresses to me, and your ARCs will be on their way.

And a Special Dishonorable Mention to ed king for asking if I have a reputation to protect.

Now, the new contest. That whole explanantion of Sally's about where Lydia and Bill found these songs gave rise in my so-called mind to this question: if Lydia and Bill did take a trip together for a non-business purpose -- that is, not on a case -- where would they go and why?
