me in the piazza

I'm a writer, publishing both as SJ Rozan and, with Carlos Dews, as Sam Cabot. (I'm Sam, he's Cabot.) Here you can find links to my almost-daily blog posts, including the Saturday haiku I've been doing for years. BUT the blog itself has moved to my website. If you go on over there you can subscribe and you'll never miss a post. (Miss a post! A scary thought!) Also, I'll be teaching a writing workshop in Italy this summer -- come join us!

More Mongolia!

So about those roads. The materials we were sent by Boojum Expeditions said the roads in Mongolia were rough. When we got there we got ourselves a case of the You Don't Know the Half of it Dearie Blues.

First you have to figure out where you are
where are we, exactly?

and what route to take
we drove over it, too!

or maybe an alternate route
got a horse

you have to know where to stop for lunch
roadside restaurant

and a quick whizz
potty stop

and then you sit back and enjoy the ride.
this is where the roads go...

Honestly, folks: open spaces this huge, it's why I went.

More here (and Assisi's there, too!).
