me in the piazza

I'm a writer, publishing both as SJ Rozan and, with Carlos Dews, as Sam Cabot. (I'm Sam, he's Cabot.) Here you can find links to my almost-daily blog posts, including the Saturday haiku I've been doing for years. BUT the blog itself has moved to my website. If you go on over there you can subscribe and you'll never miss a post. (Miss a post! A scary thought!) Also, I'll be teaching a writing workshop in Italy this summer -- come join us!

Sad news

Just got this, from Murder By the Book, the great mystery bookstore in Houston, TX:

"It is with deep sadness that we must share the news that David Thompson passed away suddenly on September 13, 2010. David worked at MBTB for 21 years, and he made an indelible impression on the store and everyone who met him. There will be a memorial service, and we will share the details as soon as they are available. In the meantime, David's wife, McKenna Jordan, asks that no tributes be sent to the bookstore for now."

David, who was also the publisher of Busted Flush Press, was one of the nicest, most hardworking guys I've ever known. I'm supposed to go to Houston in October with ON THE LINE, was looking forward to visiting with him. He was generous, enthusiastic, kind, and dedicated. What a loss this is.
