me in the piazza

I'm a writer, publishing both as SJ Rozan and, with Carlos Dews, as Sam Cabot. (I'm Sam, he's Cabot.) Here you can find links to my almost-daily blog posts, including the Saturday haiku I've been doing for years. BUT the blog itself has moved to my website. If you go on over there you can subscribe and you'll never miss a post. (Miss a post! A scary thought!) Also, I'll be teaching a writing workshop in Italy this summer -- come join us!

Meanwhile, back at the Rancho

Sitting here on the back porch watching the yellow sunset find its way through the big maple tree. Lots of birds singing, only robins visible, but egrets in the inlet (a cool phrase in itself) as I arrived. Clear and beautiful, getting a little chilly. Grilled fish, leeks and asparagus on the dinner menu, with red wine. (We drink what we like out here at the Rancho. Besides, it's bluefish.) Grill to be fired up soon... Four of us here, one Obsessivo missing. (Business trip this weekend.) More lush out here than usual this time of year, garden more mature, making deer- and gopher-created gaps more evident. I'm not out next two weekends, so there's a whole lotta planting coming tomorrow, for sure.
