me in the piazza

I'm a writer, publishing both as SJ Rozan and, with Carlos Dews, as Sam Cabot. (I'm Sam, he's Cabot.) Here you can find links to my almost-daily blog posts, including the Saturday haiku I've been doing for years. BUT the blog itself has moved to my website. If you go on over there you can subscribe and you'll never miss a post. (Miss a post! A scary thought!) Also, I'll be teaching a writing workshop in Italy this summer -- come join us!

LA report, part 3: including Pasadena

Already told you about strolling in Little Tokyo with Naomi Hirahara, so here are a couple of photos from that afternoon:

As for Pasadena, I was there for the California Crime Writers Conference, a joint project of the local chapters of MWA and Sisters in Crime. It was excellent cool -- well run, details taken care of, and good sessions. I learned some valuable stuff, and had fun at the keynote I gave and the class I taught. (Avoiding the Sagging Middle, which had nothing to do with crunches for your abs.) This conference is held every two years, and those of you in the nabe, you couldn't do better than to sign on next time it comes around.

Herewith, a few more CA photos.
