me in the piazza

I'm a writer, publishing both as SJ Rozan and, with Carlos Dews, as Sam Cabot. (I'm Sam, he's Cabot.) Here you can find links to my almost-daily blog posts, including the Saturday haiku I've been doing for years. BUT the blog itself has moved to my website. If you go on over there you can subscribe and you'll never miss a post. (Miss a post! A scary thought!) Also, I'll be teaching a writing workshop in Italy this summer -- come join us!

Partners and Crime, R.I.P.

Hoisting a melancholy glass tonight for Partners and Crime, the now-late great mystery bookstore in my neighborhood. They closed today after 18 years. With a couple of other NYC crime writers, I helped stock the shelves a week or two before their opening. I launched every one of my 13 books there, the first one just a few weeks after they opened. I went to any number of other people's launches there, writers I knew and writers I admired and wanted to know. Cranston and Spade did their Saturday night W.O.W. radio theater shows there, the local Sisters in Crime chapter met there, writing groups came and went. You could go in and browse, get book recommendations, or just hang. It was a great place. Good luck to Kizmin, Maggie, Maggie, Steve, and everyone else involved. Partners and Crime, R.I.P.
