me in the piazza

I'm a writer, publishing both as SJ Rozan and, with Carlos Dews, as Sam Cabot. (I'm Sam, he's Cabot.) Here you can find links to my almost-daily blog posts, including the Saturday haiku I've been doing for years. BUT the blog itself has moved to my website. If you go on over there you can subscribe and you'll never miss a post. (Miss a post! A scary thought!) Also, I'll be teaching a writing workshop in Italy this summer -- come join us!

Ciao, Assisi

As usual, the time here has gone fast. When we first arrive it seems to stretch forever; then suddenly it's over. A few of us are leaving together in a few hours for Rome, by train. Tomorrow we'll visit the gardens the Pope has just opened to the public at the Castle Gandolfo. Tuesday we plan to see the ruins at Ostia Antica, the old port, and if we can we'll have lunch at the beach. Then back, pack, a final dinner (pasta limone if I can swing it!) and up at 5:00 to catch our train to the airport. Before you can say "Giovanni Robinson" we'll all be back in our separate cities, immersed in our everyday lives.

Ciao, Assisi.
