me in the piazza

I'm a writer, publishing both as SJ Rozan and, with Carlos Dews, as Sam Cabot. (I'm Sam, he's Cabot.) Here you can find links to my almost-daily blog posts, including the Saturday haiku I've been doing for years. BUT the blog itself has moved to my website. If you go on over there you can subscribe and you'll never miss a post. (Miss a post! A scary thought!) Also, I'll be teaching a writing workshop in Italy this summer -- come join us!

Delta Blues

Visiting my buddy Eric Stone in Clarksdale, Mississippi. First stop, Square Books in Oxford. What a great bookstore! Signed stock, chatted, had coffee on the balcony overlooking the street. Dinner at Rust's, a restaurant/blues club inside an old cotton gin. A truly great hamburger, and the high-ceilinged club is called the Juke Joint Chapel. Then a dive juke joint called Club 2000, where we listened to Anthony "The Big A" Sherrod whose mission is to bring the blues back to the other side of town. Other from what? From the side where they still play the blues, across the tracks.

Photos to come, y'all.
