me in the piazza

I'm a writer, publishing both as SJ Rozan and, with Carlos Dews, as Sam Cabot. (I'm Sam, he's Cabot.) Here you can find links to my almost-daily blog posts, including the Saturday haiku I've been doing for years. BUT the blog itself has moved to my website. If you go on over there you can subscribe and you'll never miss a post. (Miss a post! A scary thought!) Also, I'll be teaching a writing workshop in Italy this summer -- come join us!

Jerry the Dog

Many of you contributed to the purchase of Jerry the Dog, a puppy being raised by a volunteer at Hero Dogs to be a service dog for a wounded veteran. Jerry, of course, was named for the late great Jeremiah Healy. My sister went down to Hero Dogs to see their facility and their dogs and sent this report:

"Jerry is a reddish Golden, incredibly beautiful. He already picks up dropped items (keys, wallets, books), uses a rope pull to pull a laundry basket, and tugs on a rope pull that opens doors, drawers and cabinets. All the rope pulls and baskets etc. at Hero Dogs are red, white and blue. He works very hard, and Hero Dogs is great about making sure he gets his doggie play time, sniffing-butt time, Wild Rumpus and down time. It's a great organization; all friends of Jerry the Human should be very proud."

Here she is with Jerry the Dog.
