I like my cats.

I have three of them.

I had a cat and a dog but the dog tried to follow me when I went somewhere just after I moved into my house. I didn't know this. He got lost and I'm pretty sure someone picked him up. He never showed at the Human Society (I got him from there and they knew me) or Animal Control (where the dead ones end up). He was cute, friendly and knew tricks.

After six months, I went to get another cat. I think animals should be raised in pairs.

I found an ad in the free weekly for kittens. (As my older cat was almost a year old, a kitten would be easier for her to get acclimated.) I went to the house. There were two left. They clung to each other and mewed. They were so cute and so small and so pitiful.

So I brought them both home. I was assured they were both females, like my older one. Alas, the orangey-white one (official name Vanilla) decided to 'drop' two weeks later by the time I went to have them checked out and given shots. A few months later, both he and his sister Nutter became Its just like Pepper.

Moral? Either close your heart or allow yourself to experience whatever may happen.

It just might keep you warm at night.
