I spent most of today editing The Bunyip and that's almost done. I've just printed a copy which I'll run through shortly to make sure everything looks okay, then it's on to the first readers (hopefully before midnight!). After that I'll probably see what the other Critters think of it (I could be waiting awhile).

Today I finished reading issue #35 of The 3rd Alternative. This is the first issue of this UK-based magazine I've read (I ordered it via Project Pulp, although it's also available at the publisher's site: TTAPress). On the whole, I'm quite impressed. The quality of fiction was a bit uneven though, in my opinion. My favourite story this issue was Jay Lake's All Our Heroes Are Bastards. It's quite a dark story, but an interesting new take on the often cheesy zombie story. China Miéville's article on the 'New Weird' was quite interesting too, since I've seen a lot of debate online about this so-called new-wave of fiction.
Despite this magazine being UK-based, it provides a US address (in addition to the UK one) for submissions, which makes life a bit easier for US-based writers. This magazine is definitely on my list of markets to consider for future submissions.

What I'm Reading
Asimov's Science Fiction, May 2003 issue
(I know, I'm way behind!)
