The story brainstorming didn't go too spectacularly today - I came up with a handful of one sentence story ideas and a couple of titles. I did manage to write a few paragraphs for the story idea I came up with last week, so that one will be ready to roll once a few more pieces of the puzzle fall into place! Tomorrow I'll keep at it and see what else I can come up with.

On the job front, I'll most likely be travelling to Michigan in late October for an interview / job symposium, so I've got my fingers crossed for that :)

Finished reading Talebones #26, Summer 2003 today, which was up to their usual high standard. My favourites this issue were James Van Pelt's 'The Pair-a-Duce Comet Casino All-Sol Poker Championships', William Mingin's 'From Sunset to the White Sea', and Kameron Hurley's 'Holding Onto Ghosts'. I've consistently been impressed with James Van Pelt's work (he also pops by occasionally at the Asimov's message board), so I might have to get a hold of his short story collection, entitled Strangers and Beggars. This is available direct from Fairwood Press (the publishers of Talebones) or Amazon.com.
I'm also ploughing through Hacking Matter at the moment and there's plenty of interesting stuff in that!

What I'm Reading:
Hacking Matter by Wil McCarthy
Analog Science Fiction & Fact, May 2003
