This afternoon we got back from our first Wedding Anniversary celebration in Chicago! We had a great time this weekend, eating plenty of food and having a good look around (it's been awhile since our last visit).

Among other things, we visited the Art Institute and Navy Pier. The last time we went to the Art Institute we only had time to see one floor before closing time, so yesterday we got to see the lower level and first floor. That place is huge! By the end of our visit, our feet were feeling very sore indeed. We were particularly impressed by the Medieval section and the European Art. If you're ever in Chicago, that's one place you should check out :)

During our visit to Navy Pier, we spotted a small mini-golf course! If you've read a particular journal entry, you'll know what that means :)

After our 18-holes of golf we headed indoors to soak up some warmth. On the way to the IMAX theatre we saw a very nice stained-glass exhibit and caught a glimpse of a wedding reception in the atrium area. Unfortunately there wasn't much of interest playing in the IMAX theatre, with the latest Matrix movie being the only offering for the remainder of the evening. Since we'd already seen it and weren't keen to see it again, we headed out for coffee instead.

On Friday afternoon I finished the 'final' draft of Heavy Rains. If any minor changes are necessary based on first reader comments, I'll make those, otherwise I'll send it out within the next couple of days. Now I've got to work on the remaining 3 stories for the short story challenge...
