Snow sculptures without the snow?

As usual I've been busy looking and applying for jobs, so I haven't had time for much else lately. I'm still writing notes for the new story and hopefully I can get the remaining pieces of the puzzle sorted out and start actually writing it :)

I expect this weekend will be spent mostly indoors, owing to the chilly weather. Apparently there's going to be 2 inches of snow, as well as sleet and freezing rain overnight. Tomorrow we're planning on seeing the snow sculpture show at a local park, assuming it's still on. There hasn't been much snow lately, despite the chilly temperatures. I'm not complaining :)

-----<>-----

Finished reading the October/November double-issue of Asimov's yesterday. This issue is packed full of good stuff, and I can see now why Gardner has decided to go with two double-issues a year - it's all about the novellas, folks!

My favourites this issue were The Green Leopard Plague by Walter Jon Williams (an entertaining yarn, even if the science is a bit dodgy), Ariel by Lucius Shepard (a new twist on the multiverse idea, with a clever plot), Welcome to Olympus, Mr. Hearst by Kage Baker (a delightful Company tale set mostly in the Hearst mansion), and The Man From Somewhere by Jack Williamson (a cleverly constructed tale involving a mysterious man with amnesia) - here's hoping Jack keeps writing great yarns like this well into triple-digit years!

What I'm Reading:
Galaxy Magazine : The Dark and the Light Years, by David L. Rosheim
(re-reading)
Locus, January 2004
Asimov's Science Fiction, December 2003
